Beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, Sowing Seeds of Hope will be giving away canned goods and other pantry staples in a food distribution event at the Ed Daniel Job Training Center. Perry County residents will be able to pick up bags of non-perishable food items from the Sowing Seeds of Hope building until 5:00 or while supplies last. The organization requests those interested not arrive until 3:00 to better control the flow of traffic, as it is a drive-through event. No residents will have to leave their vehicles and are requested not to. This event is meant to address food insecurity in the community. The event is sponsored by Sowing Seeds of Hope and Faith Baptist Church with assistance from the Selma Area Food Bank.
