Susie Ann Thomas, 70, of Greensboro, passed away on February 10, 2022. Born November 25, 1951, in Greensboro, she is the daughter of the late John Henry and Rosie Lee Thomas. Baptized at an early age, Susie joined St. Thomas Church in Greensboro. A graduate of the Hale County Training School, Class of 1969, Susie later enrolled in C.A. Fredd Technical School in Tuscaloosa. After moving to Buffalo, N.Y., for a time, Susie returned to Greensboro, before finally relocating to Tuscaloosa, where she remained until her death.
She is preceded in death by a son, Rashawn Sheleke Thomas; sisters, Lula Mae Edwards and Sue Miles; brothers, Wallace, Charlie, and John Henry, Jr. Susie is survived by: children, Felicia Thomas of Tuscaloosa, Kimberly (Percy) Sample of Tuscaloosa, Shaneequa Thomas of Greensboro, and Edwaynta Thomas of Madison, Kentucky; brothers, Jessie (Benzell) Smith, Herman (Mary) Thomas, and Willie Thomas; sisters, Ruby (Adam) Jones and Caroline Harris; eighteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; nieces, Brenda Edwards and Sandra E. Constant; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services for Susie Ann Thomas were on Saturday, February 19, at Washington and Paige Funeral Home Chapel in Greensboro with Pastor James Frank of Pine Grove Baptist Church officiating.
