Dennis Lynn Baker passed away on August 10, 2022 in Demopolis, Alabama. Born in Houston, Texas on November 7, 1957, he moved to Marengo County, Alabama, as a young man, where he met his future bride, Maryanne Allen. He was a retired catfish farmer and co-owner of Mamie’s Fish House. Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Earnestine Salmon Baker, and his father, Eurel Hollis Baker, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Maryanne Allen Baker, his brother Darren Baker (Ann Marie), nieces Breanna Baker, Amelia Willis Easterling (Michael), Hannah Willis, Suzanne Allen Schmidt (Larry), Aileen Allen Litwiller (Eric), Ann Curtis Allen Dirks (Adrian), nephew Michael (Mikey) Willis (Echo), and a large number of great-nieces and greatnephews.
Dennis was a devoted member of the Free & Accepted Masons Of Alabama, Demopolis Lodge No 49. He was a man of strong faith and participated in the ministries of several area churches, over the years, most recently at Rangeline Baptist Church. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish, and did so as long as his health allowed.
Visitation with the family will be held at the Demopolis Masonic Lodge on August 26, 2022 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. A graveside service will be held August 27, 2022 at the Curtis-Allen Cemetery, in Old Spring Hill, Alabama at 2:00 PM.
