Henry Raymond Lathum, 73 of Greensboro, AL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at his home. He was born on March 30, 1950 in Jasper, AL to Henry Lathum and Nellie Frost Lathum. He worked at Georgia Pacific in Converting for 41 1/2 years. He graduated from Hale County High School in 1968. He loved his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy Henry; his son, Terry Lathum, and his sister, Patsy Dupson. He is survived by his wife, Sue Adams Lathum; his son Jerry Lathum (Tiffany); and his sisters Lynelle Skelton and Linda Wheat.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Cameron Lathum, Connor Lathum, Cullen Lathum, Caden Lathum, Bryson Lathum, Cayley Hoggle, Caleb Hoggle, Jordan Henry, and Allison Henry; and his great-grandchildren: Baliegh Busbee, Emileigh Busbee, Nathan Busbee, Brantley Busbee, Kayson Lathum, Kashtyn Hoggle, Finleigh Hoggle, Caleb Hoggle, Cashtyn Hoggle, and Casyn Hoggle.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 14 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Greensboro. Funeral services followed at the church, with the Rev. Rick Crawford and Jay Seale officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes, Greensboro Chapel directing. A graveside service followed at the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Cameron Lathum, Connor Lathum, Jordan Henry, Bryson Lathum, Caleb Hoggle, and James Adams. Honorary pallbearers were: Mr. & Mrs. Johnny Whaley, Brother Robert Ferguson, Macedonia Baptist Church, Georgia Pacific employees, Hale County Hospital employees, Hale county EMT, and Hale County Sheriff’s Department.
