Southern Academy’s varsity football team kicked off their season with a thrilling victory over Pinecrest, winning 42-23 in a game that showcased the talents of their senior players.
The offense was led by Senior QB Campbell Webb, who carried the ball 11 times for 119 yards, scoring 2 touchdowns and converting 2 two-point conversions. Senior RB McGuire Davis also had an impressive game, with 11 carries for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns. Senior FB John Robert Copeland contributed with 12 carries for 83 yards, scoring 1 touchdown and converting a two-point play.
On the defensive side, Campbell Webb made a key interception, while McGuire Davis stood out with 9 tackles and a blocked punt.
