Paul Douglas Johnson, 71, of Greensboro, Alabama, passed away on September 23. Born on February 21, 1952, Paul had a distinguished career with the Alabama Bureau of Investigations before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Wilson Johnson; his parents, J.L. and Jane Johnson; and a grandson, Jarrod Paul Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Karon Jo Johnson; his sons, Justin and Jeremy Johnson; stepdaughter, Ashley Johnson (Allen); step-son, Joseph Besant; grandchildren, Sara Ann, Jesse, Jude, and Lilli Johnson; a brother, Johnny Johnson (Brenda); and a sister, Pat Rivers (Eddie).
The active pallbearers for his service will be Elden Willingham, Russell Morrison, Jim Roberts, Gregg Roberts, Harry Beasley, and Jesse Johnson. Honorary pallbearers include Mac Henry, Jimmy Stringfellow, retired Alabama State Troopers, George Thorpe, Phil Clark, Johnny Tubbs, Joe Brzezinski, Mike Manliet, Ed Odom, Dr. Katherine Dean and Associates, along with the nurses and staff of the 4th Floor and SICU of St. Vincent’s Hospital.
On Thursday, September 28, visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Bible Methodist Church on South St in Greensboro. This will be followed by the funeral service at the same location at 2:00 pm. A committal service will take place on Friday, September 29, at 2:00 pm at Forestlawn Gardens in Anniston.
All services will be directed by the Heritage Chapel Funeral Home.
