It is with great sadness that the family expresses the loss of a beautiful person, Jessie Dean Montz Williams, age 82 of Greensboro. She was a lifetime resident of Mt. Hermon community. She was the third of six children of Murvle and J.T. Montz. She attended Greenboro High School and was retired from Plastics in Greensboro. She was also co -author of The Montz Family book.
Jessie enjoyed vegetable gardening and canning. She was an amazing cook and did so often. She always had a cake or cookies ready for anyone that came by. She made divinity candy, fudge and fruitcake cookies to give as Christmas treats. If there was a death or sicknessin the community , she always asked if there was anything she could do and took a dish of food to them. She loved her flowers, there was always something blooming in her yard. She was a tough one – she could out work anybody. She was cherished by her friends and family.
Jessie is preceded in death by her daughter; Betty Ann Breland, parents; Murvle and J.T. Montz, three brothers; Windon Montz, Dotson Montz, and Lenson Montz, all of Greensboro.
She is survived by her daughter; Darlene Breland Snipes of Pike Road, Alabama, grandson; Justin Snipes (Adriana) and three great-grandchildren of San Antonio, Texas, sister; Ellen Wrenthy Montz Webb (Jimmy), of Pike Road, Alabama, and a brother; Dathan Montz (Fredia) of Greensboro.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 8, 2024 at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church and burial to follow at church Cemetery with Rev. Arthur Thomas officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing.
