ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
TRACK REPLACEMENT FOR THE GREENSBORO HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE HALE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION GREENSBORO, ALABAMA
MCKEE PROJECT NO.: 24-141
Sealed proposals for this project shall be received by Mr. Michael C. Ryans, Superintendent at Hale County School System located at 1115 Powers Street, Greensboro, AL 36744; Phone: 334-624-8836, until 2:00 PM Central Time, Thursday, June 6, 2024, then opened and read aloud.
General Contractors bidding on this project shall be required to visit the site to examine all existing conditions prior to submitting their proposal and shall be arranged by the contractor with the school.
All Bidders shall have general liability and workman’s compensation insurance. The project shall be bid excluding taxes. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. No bid may be withdrawn after scheduled closing for receipt of bids for a period of ninety (90) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owners judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
A certified check or Bid Bond payable to Hale County Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00 must accompany the bidder’s sealed proposal. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds will be required at the signing of the Contract.
All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect. All bidders shall show such evidence by clearly displaying their current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered.

Also, if you are not receiving NOTIFICATIONS from us, please register on our website, “Project Bid List” by selecting manage your bid list profile. The Architect is unable to monitor, confirm and maintain other websites that provide documents. Addendums will be provided to entities that have CONFIRMED bidding for this particular project. The Architect retains ownership and copyrights of the documents. If bidders require printed sets, please submit request to the Architect at mckeeplans@gmail.com. Include your first & last name, company name, address, phone number and the project name and number. Print sets are to be returned, in reusable condition, within ten days after bid opening.
All RFIs and RFAs regarding the bid documents shall be sent and addressed through emails found on the RFI and RFA forms in the project manual. NOTE: ONLY THE RFI AND RFA FORMS IN THE PROJECT MANUAL WILL BE ACCEPTED. The Architect will not accept inquiries via telephone or fax.

Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Marion until June 18, 2024, at 2:00 P.M., for the work according to Specifications and Contract Documents on file in the office of the Owner, the improvements hereinafter described. No bids will be received after the time set forth hereinabove; and the Bids will be publicly opened and read.
The Bid Documents will be opened at Marion City Hall on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 2:00 P.M., 123 E. Jefferson Street, Marion, AL 36756. If your Bid Documents are mailed, they should be received prior to the City of Marion office.
The work of providing labor, equipment, and material for Marion DWSRF Critical Needs Water Infrastructure Improvements Project-Phase 1 / Contract 1- Source Water Evaluation Study – DWSRF Project No. FS010248-01.
The principal items of work are detailed herein below:
- Contractor shall perform a video inspection, capacity test, and collect water sample for chemical analysis at the Grede Well. Contractor shall report of their findings including test results.

Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents are open to public inspection at the office of Owner, City of Marion, 123 E. Jefferson Street, Marion, AL 36756 or may be obtained from the office of the Engineers, Utility Engineering Consultants, LLC, 130 Southcrest Drive., Suite 100, Homewood, AL 35209 upon deposit of $ 0.00 per set, the actual cost of printing, reproducing, handling and distribution for each set of documents. No refunds will be made except to Prime Contractor Bidders, which shall be refunded for one bid set.
There will be no bonds required.
No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening bids has passed. The Owner reserves the right to hold the bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of receiving the Bids.
The Contractor is hereby advised that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE on this project and that the contract time of 60 consecutive calendar days total and noted restrictions shall be strictly observed. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES WILL BE ASSESSED IF CONTRACT TIME IS EXCEEDED. The Contractor may apply for an extension of time in accordance with the provisions of the contract; however, such an extension must be approved prior to the contract completion date to avoid the imposition of liquidated damages.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to accept any bid considered advantageous to the Owner.
The contractor shall note that funds for this project are provided through DWSRF (Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Funds) and ARPA Funds. All Applicable Federal Guidelines must be met. There will be no Pre-Bid meeting.

Pursuant to the provisions of the Alabama Environmental Management Act, the Alabama Department of Environmental Management is proposing to issue an Order to the City of Marion for failure to close an unauthorized dump site located at located at Henry Street (Parcel No. 53-13-06-24-0-004-044.002) in Marion, Perry County, Alabama.
The violations consisted of the City of Marion creating and not properly closing an Unauthorized Dump site.
The Department is proposing a civil penalty in the amount of $12,000. The Order, if issued, would require the City of Marion to cease and desist the operation of the unauthorized dump site, and to submit an abatement plan to the Department. This plan would require the removal and proper disposal of all regulated wastes, and a schedule for abatement completion.
Interested persons may submit written comments, including a request for a hearing, within 30 days of the publication date of this notice to:
