The Perry County Extension Office will be hosting the Heirs Property Awareness Workshop on June 19, from 9 AM to 11 AM at the Perry County Courthouse, in the upstairs courtroom.
This workshop will offer information and valuable insight into heirs property, property passed to family members by inheritance. The workshop comes during the month of the national Juneteenth holiday, where heirs property has become a key topic as celebrants commemorate the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Topics will include land ownership, property issues effecting local landowners and communities, and the importance of maintaining heirs property through inheritance.
To register for the workshop, contact the Perry County Extension Office at 334-683-6888. If additional accommodations for language access services are needed, contact Katrina Easley at 334-683-6888 by June 12.
