For the second time in a week, many Marion residents found themselves facing water service problems. On Saturday, Sept. 28, the City of Marion announced via its Facebook page that a water main was leaking near the intersection of Highway 5 and Monroe Street. The leak caused low water pressure issues throughout the city.
A number of local restaurants, including The Shack and Whillard’s Original BBQ, announced temporary closures on Saturday due to the lack of running water at their facilities.
The week before, Marion spent several days under a boil water notice due to low chlorine levels in the system.
