The Perry County Historical Society invites the community to its Fall Meeting on Thursday, October 17th at 6 p.m. at the historic Marion Female Seminary. The evening’s program will feature Jackson Knight, author of the newly published book Churches of the Alabama Black Belt: Perry County. Knight’s book documents over 100 standing churches in Perry County, complete with color photos and their physical locations.
Attendees are encouraged to bring any written histories of local churches to contribute to the museum’s collection. Following the program, guests are invited to share stories and memories of these sacred places while enjoying refreshments prepared by the Historical Society’s board members.
Join the Historical Society for an evening of history, fellowship, and the opportunity to reflect on the role these churches have played in shaping Perry County.
