The Perry County Board of Education has announced a vacancy for the position of head football coach at Robert C. Hatch High School in Uniontown, with applications currently being accepted. The position will be effective for the 2025-2026 school year.
The board is seeking candidates with a current Alabama Teacher’s Certification or equivalent qualifications. While prior experience in sports as a participant or coach is preferred, it is not a requirement for consideration. Applicants must also meet all requirements outlined by the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Coaches’ Education Program.
The role entails managing athletic activities, including competitions, contests, and practice sessions, with a focus on fostering individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The head coach will also be responsible for instructing athletes, developing character, and working collaboratively with players, parents, administrators, and other coaches. Ensuring compliance with athletic clearances and attending AHSAA-sponsored rules clinics are also part of the job responsibilities.
The salary for the position will align with the system’s established salary supplement schedule.
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a completed Perry County Board of Education application, along with the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of three references. Applications should be sent to Dr. Marcia A. Smiley, Superintendent, at the Perry County Schools office in Marion by Tuesday, January 24, 2025, or until the position is filled.
