Breakthrough Broncos hosted relay meet March 8 with other schools from the area

Broncos

On March 8th, the Breakthrough Broncos hosted a Relay Meet at the Marion Military Institute track that included Breakthrough, Francis Marion, Greensboro, and Hale County. The meet was not your typical meet. Instead of mostly individual events with a few relays, it incorporated an array of different types of relays with a few individual events. The event was a great starter race to the season for many athletes.

Some athletes were shaking off the rust of not competing on a track since last Spring while other athletes were experiencing a track meet for their very first time. The most exciting part of the event was the fact that so many from the Marion and surrounding communities came out to support the athletes.

Many spectators likely had never been to a track meet before due to the fact all races are typically in Tuscaloosa or Birmingham, so most family members and friends cannot watch the athletes compete. This event, spearheaded by Coach Xavien Evans, allowed the opportunity for the community to come together in a competitive, yet friendly environment.
