The Francis Marion track and field team competed in the UWA Invitational on March 14, 2025, with both the varsity boys’ and varsity girls’ teams finishing sixth out of 14 teams. The team delivered several standout performances, securing multiple top-five finishes in a highly competitive meet.
A’Naja Tubbs earned first place in the shot put, while Wesley Kynard finished second in the javelin throw. Jamarian Essex also secured a second-place finish in the 800-meter run. Ke’Lashia Shelton had a strong showing, finishing third in both the 100-meter dash and the long jump.
The junior varsity girls’ 4×100-meter relay team placed third, and the varsity boys’ 4×100-meter relay team took fourth place. Tracianna Moore finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, while Zy’Tashia Moore placed fourth in the 200-meter dash. Ja’Mardric Moore earned fourth place in the discus throw, and Ny’Marionna Barron took fourth in the triple jump.
Michael Hopkins delivered a strong performance, finishing fifth in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash. David Dallas rounded out the team’s top performances with a fifth-place finish in the javelin throw.
