On Monday, April 3, students at Breakthrough Charter School participated in an on-site STEM field trip, courtesy of a BetaBox brought to the school by the University of West Alabama in Livingston. A part of UWA’s recent collaboration with the North Carolina-based BetaBox program, a BetaBox is a mobile lab that can be shown and experienced by students across the region. The goal of this program is to foster future careers in STEM and encourage future employment opportunities for students. Students in grades 6-9 at Breakthrough participated in hands-on activities and learned of possible careers in STEM for their future.
