ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

HVAC REPLACEMENT FOR PERRY COUNTY SCHOOLS FOR THE PERRY COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION MARION, ALABAMA PROJECT #22-268

Sealed proposals as described above will be received by Dr. Marcia Smiley, Superintendent, at the Perry County Board of Education, 200 W. Monroe Street, Marion, AL 36745, Phone: 334-683-4144, until 2:00 PM Central Time, Thursday, May 25, 2023, then opened and read aloud.

There shall be a Non-Mandatory Prebid walkthrough on Wednesday, May 10, at 9:00 AM Central Time, starting at the School Board Office and proceeding to the schools.

All Bidders shall have general liability and workman’s compensation insurance. The project shall be bid excluding taxes. Separate bids must be submitted on proposal form furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. No bid may be withdrawn after scheduled closing for receipt of bids for a period of ninety (90) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owners judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.

A certified check or Bid Bond payable to the Perry County Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00 must accompany the bidder’s proposal if over $50,000.00 dollars. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds will be required at the signing of the Contract.

All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect. All bidders shall show such evidence by clearly displaying current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered.

The Architect is unable to monitor, confirm and maintain other websites that provide documents. Addendums will be provided to entities that have CONFIRMED bidding for this particular project. The Architect retains ownership and copyrights of the documents. Include your first & last name, company name, address, phone number and the project name and number. Print sets are to be returned in reusable condition within ten days after bid opening.

All RFIs and RFAs regarding the bid documents shall be sent and addressed through emails found on the RFI and RFA forms in the project manual. NOTE: ONLY THE RFI AND RFA FORMS IN THE PROJECT MANUAL WILL BE ACCEPTED. The Architect will not accept inquiries via telephone or fax.

Notice to Contractors Federal Aid Project No. STPAAFMGR- 0025(566) HALE COUNTY, ALABAMA

Sealed bids will be received by the Director of Transportation at the office of the Alabama Department of Transportation, Montgomery, Alabama until 10:00 AM on May 26, 2023 and at that time publicly opened for constructing the Resurfacing (Micro-Surfacing Seal Coat, Type II and Scrub Seal) and Traffic Stripe on SR- 25 from the junction of CR-85 to the Bibb County Line. Length 7.093 mi.

The total amount of uncompleted work under contract to a contractor must not exceed the amount of his or her qualification certificate.

The Entire Project Shall Be Completed In Thirty-five (35) Working Days. A 0.50% DBE Contract Obligation Is Required. A Bidding Proposal may be purchased for $5.00. Plans may be purchased for $5.00 per set. Plans and Proposals are available at the Alabama Department of Transportation, 1409 Coliseum Boulevard, Room E- 108, Montgomery, AL 36110.

Checks should be made payable to the Alabama Department of Transportation. Plans and Proposals will be mailed only upon receipt of remittance. No refunds will be made.

Minimum wage rates for this project have been pre-determined by the Secretary of Labor and are set forth in the advertised specifications. This project is subject to the contract work hours and Safety Standards Act and its implementing regulations.

Cashier’s check or bid bond for 5% of bid (maximum – $50,000.00) made payable to the Alabama Department of Transportation must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith.

The bracket range is shown only to provide general financial information to contractors and bonding companies concerning the project’s complexity and size. This Bracket should not be used in preparing a bid, nor will this bracket have any bearing on the decision to award this contract.

The Bracket Estimate On This Project Is From $1,195,688 To $1,461,396 .

The proposed work shall be performed in conformity with the rules and regulations for carrying out the Federal Highway Act.

Plans and Specifications are on file in Room E-108 of the Alabama Department of Transportation at Montgomery, Alabama 36110.

In accordance with the rules and regulations of The Alabama Department of Transportation, proposals will be issued only to prequalified contractors or their authorized representatives, upon requests that are received before 10 AM., on the day previous to the day of opening of bids. The bidder’s proposal must be submitted on the complete original proposal furnished him or her by the Alabama Department of Transportation.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids, subject to the conditions contained herein, will be received by the Hale County Water Authority until 11:00 A.M. local time, Thursday, June 22, 2023, and then publicly opened and read at their office located at 19873 Hwy. 69 N, Greensboro, AL 36744 for furnishing all labor and materials and performing all work for construction of: COUNTY ROAD 64 CDBG WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT.

The project consists of: Furnishing and Installing Approximately 11,000 LF of 3” & 6” Water Main and related appurtenances.

A PRE-BID MEETING is scheduled for Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hale County Water Authority, 19873 Hwy. 69 N. Greensboro, AL 36744. Attendance is nonmandatory, but encouraged.

The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND PLANS may be examined at Hale County Water Authority and at the office of Goodwyn Mills Cawood.

All bidders must comply with the President’s Executive Order Number 11246 which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex or national origin. All bidders must comply with title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis- Bacon Act, the Anti-Kickback Act and the Contract Workhours Act. The attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract, Section 3, Segregated Facilities, Section 109 and E.O. 11246.

The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities, or to reject any or all bids, and to award the contract to the lowest, most responsive and responsible bidder. All bidders must comply with requirements of the Contractor’s Licensing Law of the State of Alabama and be certified for the type of work on which the proposal is submitted. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders.

Registration in SAM (System for Award Management) www.sam.gov is required to participate in ADECA projects and other Federal funding programs. All Contractors preparing Bids for the referenced project shall submit a list of similar projects “successfully completed” in the last 5 years, having the same scope of work with construction cost similar to or greater than this project. All nonresident contractors preparing bids shall submit with the bid documents evidence of a current Alabama General Contractor’s License, evidence (with original seal of the State of Alabama) of proper registration with the Alabama Secretary of State as a foreign corporation, and a Certificate of Good Standing as a Foreign Corporation from the State of Alabama Department of Revenue. Bids submitted by a nonresident contractor without these documents included will be rejected.

Guarantee will be required with each bid for at least 5% of the amount of the bid filed in the form of a certified check, Bid Bond, or irrevocable Letter of Credit acceptable to the owner payable to the Hale County Water Authority. Bid Bonds shall include certification that the bonding company is listed in Circular 570 of the U.S. Treasury Department. The name, address, telephone number, and contact person for the bonding company shall also be included.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the opening thereof. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days from the date of opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of the bidders prior to awarding the contract. This project is being funded in part by CDBG Project No.: CY-CM-PF-22-003.

The successful bidder will be required to submit 100% performance and payment bonds or an irrevocable “Letter of Credit” which is acceptable to the Owner. All bonds and letters of credit shall be for 100% of the contract price. Attention of Bidders is called to the license required by Title 34, Chapter 8, of the code of Alabama, 1975, and amendments thereto, relating to the licensing of General Contractors. No bid will be accepted from anyone, except a qualified Contractor, licensed by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, unless otherwise required by the State Licensing Board.

50 Years Ago in the Greensboro Watchman May 17, 1973 Miss Gladys Stephens, a freshman at Auburn University, has been voted as the outstanding pledge in her sorority, Delta Gamma. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Stephens, Jr., of Greensboro.

William C. Walsh, principal of Greensboro Public School, West Campus, has announced that Dena Drury is valedictorian of the 1973 graduating class and that Mike Clements is salutatorian. Mrs. Evelyn Davis Edwards of Greensboro, associate county Extension chairman for Hale County, received the “Outstanding Service” award from the Alabama Association of Extension Home Economists at the association’s annual meeting in Scottsboro. She was cited for her work in all phases of home economics education during her 12 years with the Extension Service.

Jimmy Seale of Southern Academy recently represented the Alabama Private School Association in the Southeastern Independent School Golf Championships. He led the Alabama team with an 18-hole total of 79. Wayne Armstrong, minister of the Church of Christ of Greensboro, was presented by the Rev. William Dinwiddie as the special guest speaker for the Harvesters Club at its May meeting.
