Charles Corbett Hughey, age 88, of Sprott, Alabama peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Corbett and Navie Hughey; sister, Allieze Hughey Stone (Watson), and brother, William M Hughey (Addie Lee)
He is survived by and will be sadly missed by his wife, Angerine S Hughey; children, Kathy Smith (Rodney); grandchildren, Lyndsey Burns (Tyler) and Justin Smith (Raquel); great-grandchildren, Makynzie Smith, Alexander Burns, Elliott Burns, Samuel Burns, and Boone Grady Smith.
A graveside service was held Saturday, September 23, at 11am at Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Sprott, Alabama. Brother Korey Kizziah officiated.
Pallbearers were Rodney Smith, Justin Smith, MIchael Stone, Steve Taylor, Wayne Vinson, Phillip Worrell and Jeremiah Moreland.
Honorary Pallbearers were Bibb Medical Center Emergency Room staff, UAB Neurosurgery staff, UAB Spain Rehab staff, and Mark Harrigan, MD and staff
