The Perry County Historical Society’s Low Country Boil was on Saturday, March 16 and enjoyed a successful turnout.
Volunteers from the Historical Society and Project Horseshoe Farms, teamed up to serve shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn to guests. Alongside this, Pat Hansen led the dessert table and handed sweet treats to patrons of the boil.
The River Wind Band provided entertainment in the form of traditional country, blues, and folk music. Sam Golson of Summerfield provided floral arrangements for the event, including smilax vines that decorated the light fixtures throughout the Marion Female Seminary.
Pieces from the PCHS art collection were on display throughout the venue, including pieces from Earnest Williams, Don Coley, George Kornegay, and Nicola Marshall.
