Breonna Nelson, a resident of Marion, AL, graduated from Alabama State University (ASU) at the ASU Stadium in Montgomery, AL on Friday, May 3, 2024. The commencement ceremony marked the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance and dedication for Ms. Nelson. She received her Bachelors of Social Work degree, marking a significant achievement in her academic journey.
While attending ASU, Ms. Nelson interned at C.H.A.N.G.E. Community Resource Center where she served as an Outreach Liaison. Additionally, she maintained a 3.75 GPA and graduated Cum Laude.
Following commencement, Ms. Nelson plans to work at SelmaAir, a community based HIV/AIDS outreach organization in Selma, AL.
Ms. Nelson is the youngest daughter of proud parents, Oliver and Melanie Hogue of Marion, AL., and the sister to Roshanda Gaddis, Prattville, AL and Deonna Nelson, Atlanta, GA. She has also been supported by her special friend, Roosevelt Johnson, who has travel this path with her throughout her educational journey.
