CONCERT – The Misses Sawyer –(Twin Sisters)— will give a concert in Dornan’s Hall, next Tuesday evening, the 10th –They are most deserving and estimable young ladies, and possess musical talents of a very high order. We bespeak for them a good audience on the occasion.
Messrs. W. W. Powers & Bros., have a new advertisement in this week’s BEACON, to which the attention of our readers is specially directed. They have quite an extensive stock of Spring and Summer Dry Goods, embracing every article usually kept by country merchants. They have also a fresh supply of Groceries, — all of which they offer at very low prices. Persons I want would do well to give them a call before buying elsewhere.
DEATH OF A WORTHY COLORED MAN. – Died, in this place, on the 31st ult., after an illness of several months. NOAH INGE , colored, aged about 63 years.
The deceased was widely known in this section and greatly respected. He was a tanner by trade, and had been employed at the Stickney tanyard for some thirty or more years, for about twenty years of the time, by Messrs., C. L. & R. H. Stickney. He bore an excellent character.
