The Perry County Herald was founded in 2005 by editor and publisher John Allan Clark to provide a local, independent news source covering Marion, Uniontown, Sprott, Suttle, Newbern, North Perry, Morgan Springs, Heiberger, Browns, Cunningham, and all the communities of Perry County, Alabama, as well as the broader Black Belt region. We are an independent, locally-owned news outlet with a mission to give Perry Countians an honest, optimistic, in-context, and in-depth look at the news about their community and the communities around them.
The Perry County Herald is officially qualified under the Code of Alabama Section 6-8-60 as a newspaper of general circulation for the purpose of carrying public notices, legal notices, and other public records.
